  • World Book Day

    Thu 02 Mar 2023

Our World Book Day started with a visit from Sim Crowther, a local author, who came and spoke to the children about his career path and his process for writing a story. He then read his latest rhyming story, "The Lost Heart Stone", to the whole school. It was a wonderful visit and the children really enjoyed the opportunity to listen, and ask questions of a real-life author.

The children also enjoyed searching for ladybirds (from what "The Ladybird Heard") around the school site; visited a different classroom and teacher to hear a story; taken part in a World Book Day catwalk and enjoyed a house event where they shared a story with someone from another year group.

It has been amazing to hear the buzz for books across the school.

  • Alma Thomas Inspired Weaving

Fri 24 Feb 2023 Nikki Ward

At the end of last term, our Greenfinches completed their art project on Alma Thomas and created their own weaving board.

As you can see from the display; they did a fantastic job using their fine motor skills, patience and lots of determination to create some beautiful pieces of art work.

    Well done Greenfinches!

  • Autobiography Wall

Tue 31 Jan 2023 Nikki Ward

Mrs Williams and our Year 2 class have been looking at differences and how they can be celebrated. With this in mind, they have created a very impressive ‘autobiography wall’.

Each child has written about their talents, interests and what makes them…..well, them!

I’m sure you will agree it looks fabulous! Well done Kingfishers!!

  • Space!

Tue 17 Jan 2023 Nikki Ward

Our Woodpeckers did an incredible job recreating the solar system as part of their Art and Science project: SPACE.

They worked in teams to recreate a planet within our solar system from papier mache and paint.

    Great work, Woodpeckers!

  • Harvest

Fri 14 Oct 2022 Nikki Ward

This week pupils worked hard learning about harvest and how we can help people. This culminated on Thursday, at our special Harvest Celebration assembly. We heard a lovely song about a dingle dangle scarecrow from our Robins. Some classes wrote poems about harvest time, some created artwork and some educated us about the importance of Fairtrade.

We made a cereal box domino line and attempted a tinned food pyramid with the items our families so generously donated.

The food items we collected will be sent to our local food bank to help people in need. Thank you all for your support.

  • Playground Project Update

Sun 25 Sep 2022 Nikki Ward

Thank you to ‘ITs For the Kids’ who applied for grants and raised funds which contributed towards our Playground Project.

In addition, we would like to acknowledge the grant funding that we received from West Northamptonshire Council, through the Community Funding Grant award.

As you can see from the photographs. The whole back playground has been resurfaced. We have also added a path and ramp to our outdoor classroom, making it accessible to all of our pupils.

Our children have thoroughly enjoyed playing on the trim trail during break times, since the new academic started.

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated or helped with this phase of the project.

In time, would love to add playground markings and a daily mile path.

These extras would enhance our children’s playtimes, encouraging active play.

  • HRH Queen Elizabeth II

Thu 08 Sep 2022 Nikki Ward

This evening many of our children will have gone to bed knowing the sad news, that Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II had died.

Her inspirational legacy proves a testament to her selfless sense of duty and commitment to 70 years of public service.

Our thoughts are with the Royal Family at this sorrowful time, she will be deeply missed.

Whilst we, as adults, know that death is sadly inevitable, and have learnt how to deal with grief through our own losses. For many of our young people this will be their first experience. This news, I’m sure, will trigger sadness, confusion and many questions.

Please rest assured, at KSPA we will endeavour to support any child who may struggle coming to terms with this news during the forthcoming period of mourning.
