Dear Parents and Carers,
What a strange start to term 5. Not one that we could have ever predicted.
Your child’s health, happiness and development are so important and to help you with this I will be adding suggested learning activities on your Tapestry account. These will be aimed at the class as a whole and for groups of children, according to their next steps in learning. I will also send you your child’s individual next steps, which you can help your child take when playing or enjoying an activity with you. Each child’s learning journey may differ from others, as every child’s play will be unique.
As we know, children concentrate and learn best when they are doing something that interests them, particularly when they are having fun at play by themselves or with others.
As well as posting weekly activities for the children to do at home, I will help you support your child’s learning by responding to the photographs or comments that you post on your Tapestry account. Please remember that my suggested activities are just that. Sometimes you and your child will follow your own ideas. I will reply with guidance on how to develop their learning across the curriculum through their interests.
On Tapestry you will find login details for a variety of online learning platforms as well as access to useful documents that I have uploaded for you. Please let me know via Tapestry messages if there are any other resources that you would like me to find for you or questions that you would like me to answer.
I am creating weekly galleries of the photos that you post (see the satchel labelled as home learning photo gallery below). I hope that this will help the children retain their sense of class community and serve as an ideas bank for home learning activities.
If you are having any difficulty accessing your Tapestry account, please email Mrs Ward.
I wish you all well and look forward to seeing you back in school when it is safe for us to return.
